All Dog's go to Heaven ~ A poem for Pet Loss

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....Author unknown...

More of Emmitt Smith Cerkvenik

Emmitt after a bath and wanting to come inside. He was a good boy when we gave him a bath, he knew he was a pretty dog and loved it AFTER his bath. He was so cute, he'd run all around the yard and dry off his ears and self in the grass, little did he know, that by doing that he may get another bath, what a goof ball!!!!

The next picture is of Emmitt right after he got his hair cut, he looks as if he is saying "I don't like short hair". He doesn't look so happy, I guess nothing to rub around in the grass.

The next picture is of Emmitt adjusting to his hair cut, he is sniffing out the yard ~ maybe looking for his hair hahahaha.

Emmitt is taking a nap on the couch with Sunny. He seems to have taught her well

Emmitt & his sisters, Libby & Sunny ~

Emmitt is here on Christmas Day, 2005 with his 2 sisters, Libby & Sunny ~ This is their first Christmas with Sunny.

Emmitt was so happy to welcome each new sister. He was particulary attached to Libby ~ he was an only dog for 8 years until Libby arrived, how Emmitt doted on her, he fused over her and would be upset if she did anything that was naughty and more often then not, would hide her bad behavior, so cute.

When Sunny arrived Emmitt was perplexed as if to say "don't I have my hands full with Libby", but none the less he was just as loving and happy to have her with him in his family.

Emmitt Smith Cerkvenik

This year. I am sorry to write this but my DEAR LOVING PET OF 13 YEARS, EMMITT SMITH CERKVENIK, my SON ON 4 LEGS passed away this Friday, December 21, 2007.

After an amazing brief illness (vesticular) I had the heartbreaking decision to make to put him to rest, he was suffering and I loved him too much for that. I am having the worst time dealing with this and I miss him so much. I truly believe he is running in God's garden. Clark & I were with him to the last second reassuring him that we loved him and he went peacefully, no more spinning.

I loved him so much and I want everyone to know he was the kindest gentlest soul that ever lived and was the best with children. Thank you for letting me write this, he was so wonderful to me that I wanted everyone to know who he was and that he lived and meant something to us. Emmitt Smith Cerkvenik will never be forgotten. God Bless all of you and please hug someone in memory of Emmitt.
